In amnis, it's easy to assign multiple VAT rates to a card transaction. However, only one category can be assigned per card transaction. If you still want to assign multiple categories to a card transaction, please contact bexio directly to request this manually.

Example of booking with multiple VAT rates in amnis

A field service employee refuels at a gas station and buys a sandwich. He pays for both together. While the VAT rate of 8.1% can be applied to the fuel and 2.6% to the sandwich, the two items cannot be assigned to different categories such as "Fuel" or "Food."

Follow these steps to add an additional VAT rate:

  1. Click on "+ Add additional VAT rate"

  2. Adjust the total amount for the first entry to reflect the split

  3. Enter the remaining amount in the second entry

  4. Select the appropriate VAT rate from the dropdown list for both amounts

The VAT amounts will be calculated automatically.

All other necessary steps for successfully booking card transactions in bexio can be found in the following article.

Important note: If you need a VAT rate that does not appear in the dropdown list, this means that this VAT rate has not yet been transferred to amnis. Additional VAT rates must first be stored in bexio before they can be added in amnis. Thus, it is not possible to add any VAT rate in amnis only. Here you can find instructions on how to add additional VAT rates in amnis.

Good to know: Auto-accounting, which allows predefined accounting and merchant details for recurring transactions, can only be set up or applied if a card transaction from a specific merchant has been assigned a single VAT rate. If a card transaction has multiple VAT rates, auto-accounting will not be applied.
