Getting started with accounting integrations via Chift

Connect Xero, DATEV or Odoo to amnis and keep your books up to date automatically

With Chift, you can securely connect amnis to Xero, DATEV or Odoo and automatically transfer completed transactions to your accounting system. This article explains how to set up and manage the connection, what data is synchronized, and how to resolve common issues.

What is Chift, and what is it used for?

Chift is amnis's integration partner for accounting systems. It gives amnis one secure connection layer instead of building a separate connection for every accounting platform.
amnis currently supports Xero, DATEV and Odoo via Chift, with more accounting systems planned. If there's a system you'd like to see supported, let us know - we use this feedback to prioritise what we build next.


How do I connect my amnis account to Xero, DATEV or Odoo?

  1. Go to Integrations in amnis

  2. Select Xero, DATEV, or Odoo, and click Connect.

  3. You're redirected to Chift's hosted setup screens for your accounting system.

  4. Log in and authorise the connection, then select the accounts you'd like to configure.

  5. Once setup is complete, you're returned to amnis with the connection active.

Before you start, make sure you have the right access in your accounting systems.


What happens after I click Connect?

Connect opens Chift's configuration in a new tab. If you complete setup, you land back in amnis with the connection active. If you close the tab or cancel partway through, you're returned to Integrations and can try again - nothing is left half-connected.

What data syncs between amnis and my accounting system?

Once connected, completed amnis transactions sync automatically to your accounting system's bank feed. Only fully completed transactions sync - pending ones never do - so your books always reflect settled activity.


How often does my data sync?

Bank feed data syncs automatically once a day. You can also trigger a manual sync at any time via Chift.


What can I do with the integration today?

Right now, the integration covers bank feeds: once your accounts are connected, completed transactions post automatically to your accounting system's bank account register. No more manual CSV exports or statement imports.


What's coming next?

In the future, we're extending the Chift integrations with:

  • Automatic expense sync: card transactions synced with the right accounting category and VAT coding

  • Bill pay: supplier invoices pulled from your accounting system into amnis so you can pay them directly

More accounting systems beyond Xero, DATEV and Odoo are also on the roadmap.


Is the Chift integration included in all plans?

Can I disconnect my accounting system from amnis?

Yes. Go to Integrations, select the connected system, and choose Disconnect. You'll be asked to confirm before the connection is removed. You can reconnect at any time - the process is the same as the initial setup.


Why isn't my connection working, or why are transactions missing?

Only fully completed transactions sync - if a transaction is still pending in amnis, it won't appear yet.
If something looks off:

  • Confirm the transaction has settled in amnis

  • Try a manual sync via Chift

  • If the issue is on the accounting system side (e.g. a locked period or missing permissions), contact your accounting system's support team

  • If it's related to your amnis account or the Chift connection itself, contact amnis support
