The reference currency is the currency against which an automatic currency exchange is performed in case a transaction exceeds the funds available in the required currency account.

You can set the reference currency at the beginning of the card ordering process. If you wish, you can change the reference currency in your settings at any time later (please find the instructions at the bottom of this article). The following five currencies are available as reference currencies: CHF, EUR, USD, GBP, CZK

To ensure the smooth processing of your card payments, it's recommended to maintain a sufficient balance in the reference currency.

Please be aware that the total balance shown in the upper left corner of your amnis account does not represent your reference currency. If you're a customer from Switzerland, your overall balance will be displayed in CHF, while for all other customers, it will be in EUR. This currency display is automatically determined by the system and cannot be modified. Additionally, please note that your transaction fees will be deducted in this displayed currency at the end of each month.

How to change the reference currency?

If you want to change the reference currency, go to "Accounts" and click on the three small dots in the respective currency you want to choose as reference currency. Finally, select "Set as reference currency".
