The currency in which you wish to process your card transactions, the merchant currency or the card currency, can be conveniently changed at any time, unless you have a pending card transaction. In this case, the currency setting can only be changed after the card transaction has been fully processed.

You can set your preferred currency for card transactions in the admin area of your amnis account and switch between the two methods as you wish. This empowers you to choose the most cost-effective currency based on your specific business requirements, whether you're traveling abroad or using your amnis card locally.

Please note that for existing customers, the default setting is merchant currency settlement. Newly onboarded clients can choose their preferred method directly during the onboarding process. In both cases, it is possible to switch the settlement currency at any time in the admin area.

How to change the currency setting?

  1. Go to the admin area in your amnis WebApp.

  2. Open the folder "Debit card transaction currency settings".

  3. Select the desired currency method and save the settings.

Kindly note: If your amnis login grants you access to multiple business accounts at amnis, the preferred currency method must be set for each company individually.

👉 In this article, we explain the difference between the merchant and the card currency and which method might be more beneficial, depending on your payment streams and card usage.
