You can use the Business Debit Mastercard to make payments in all currencies worldwide. In this case, the so-called card currency method applies.
For Swiss companies, transactions are always settled in the card currency, CHF.
This means that all card transactions – regardless of the merchant currency (e.g. EUR, USD or GBP) – are charged directly to the CHF account.
This card currency method is designed to simplify accounting:
No foreign currency accounts are required
All card transactions are recorded in a single currency (CHF)
It is not possible to switch settlement to the merchant currency (e.g. EUR, USD or GBP) when using bexioPay.
This is due to the automatic synchronization with bexio and is specified by bexio.
Which exchange rate is used for foreign currency transactions?
Foreign currency card transactions are converted into CHF using the daily Mastercard fixing rate, regardless of whether the transaction is in EUR, USD, GBP, or any other currency.
