What is the difference between CAMT and OFX?

Learn how CAMT and OFX differ, when to use each format, and how amnis supports both for exporting account transactions and balances.

Written by Silvia Cadeddu

CAMT and OFX are both file formats used to export account transactions and balances.

CAMT is part of the ISO 20022 standard and uses an XML-based structure that is widely used by banks and financial institutions. OFX (Open Financial Exchange) is a different format that is commonly supported by accounting and financial software.

The format you use depends on the software you use. If your accounting or financial software supports OFX imports, you can use OFX. If it supports ISO 20022 bank statement imports, CAMT may be the preferred option.

amnis supports exports in both CAMT and OFX formats, allowing you to choose the format that best fits your accounting workflow.
