Automated Data Exchange means that data can be transferred directly between two systems without any manual intervention. Instead of downloading account statements and uploading them into the accounting system, the data is automatically delivered from amnis to the company’s system.

Why is automated data exchange better than manual processes?

  • Time savings: no need to manually upload or download files.

  • Security: encrypted transmission protects sensitive data.

  • Reliability: fewer errors thanks to automation.

  • Efficiency: processes run seamlessly in the background.

Host-to-Host (H2H)

Host-to-Host (H2H) refers to the direct, secure exchange of data between amnis and a partner system. It can be thought of as a digital highway along which data can be sent back and forth automatically, with the highest level of security ensured by encryption. This enables direct integrations into ERP or accounting systems.

Instead of manually uploading or downloading data (e.g., account statements, payment orders), the information is automatically exchanged through this connection.

Key characteristics of a Host-to-Host connection:

  • Direct integration: systems communicate directly with each other without intermediaries.

  • Automation: financial data (account statements, payments, transactions) is transferred automatically, without manual intervention.

  • Security: data transmission is encrypted and follows the highest security standards.

  • Efficiency: processes run seamlessly in the background, saving time and reducing errors.

Which channels are available for data exchange?

amnis offers several ways to exchange data securely and reliably:

  • SFTP – file transfer via a secure protocol

  • Public API – interface for real-time data access

  • SWIFT – global network for international financial data exchange

How do I set up automated data exchange or a Host-to-Host connection, and how much does it cost?

Automated data exchange and Host-to-Host (H2H) connection are available depending on your subscription plan. Certain integrations are included in specific packages, while others may only be available in higher tiers.

An overview of the available integrations and their pricing can be found on our pricing page.

What is SFTP, and how does it work?

SFTP (Secure File Transfer Protocol) is a secure way to exchange files between systems.

  • amnis places files (e.g., account statements, card transactions) in an encrypted “data vault.”

  • The partner system can automatically retrieve these files.

  • The reverse direction (uploading files to amnis) is currently not offered.

In principle, all file types can be transferred via SFTP. Common formats include ISO 20022 XML files or CSV files. What matters is that the systems on both sides can process these formats.

For more details on SFTP with amnis, including supported file formats, setup, and pricing, see our full article: What is SFTP, and how does it work with amnis?

What is a Public API?

An API (Application Programming Interface) is a digital interface that allows systems to communicate directly with each other. Through the amnis API, companies can retrieve real-time data (e.g., current account or card transactions) or submit data (e.g., payment orders or card requests). This enables direct integration into in-house systems.

What is SWIFT?

SWIFT is a global network that connects more than 11,000 financial institutions and companies.
It is used worldwide to securely exchange financial messages and files.
You can think of SWIFT as an international, secure postal system: each party has a unique address, and messages are delivered in encrypted form.

What are CAMT files?

CAMT stands for Cash Management. CAMT files are standardized formats under the international ISO 20022 standard and are used to provide financial information in a structured format. They contain data that can be directly processed by accounting and ERP systems (e.g., CAMT.053: End-of-Day account statement).

For more details on CAMT files with amnis, including supported types, ERP integration, and export options, see our full article: What are CAMT files, and how are they used with amnis?

Which other formats does amnis support?

In addition to ISO 20022 formats such as CAMT and PAIN (payment orders), CSV files can also be used.
