What is Mail-to-Pay?

Mail-to-Pay is part of amnis Payment AI and allows you to create payments directly from emails.

Instead of uploading invoices manually, you can email an invoice attachment to your dedicated Mail-to-Pay email address.

amnis automatically processes the invoice and prepares a payment draft that you can review and approve in the platform.

This helps teams turn incoming invoice emails into ready-to-review payments with minimal manual work - without needing to log in to initiate the process.

How does Mail-to-Pay work?

The workflow is simple:

  1. Send an email with an invoice attachment to your unique Mail-to-Pay email address

  2. amnis automatically extracts the payment information

  3. A payment draft is created in amnis

  4. You review and, if needed, edit the data

  5. You approve the payment

AI helps prepare the payment, but you remain fully in control of approving it.

Is Mail-to-Pay included in all subscription plans?

Mail-to-Pay is available across all paid plans.

However, access to specific AI features and usage limits depend on your subscription plan.

What happens after I send the email?

Once your email is received, payment details are extracted, and a payment draft is created in amnis.

You and relevant approvers will receive an email update about the payment draft and its status.

Who can use Mail-to-Pay?

Mail-to-Pay is available to registered amnis users, with permissions depending on the scenario:

  • For existing beneficiaries: any user with permission to create a payment can use Mail-to-Pay

  • For new beneficiaries: all users with permission to create beneficiaries can generate payment drafts via email

This ensures both flexibility and control over payment creation.

How many invoices can I send, and which formats are supported?

In the current Beta version:

  • One invoice per email

  • Supported formats: PDF, PNG, JPG, JPEG, TIFF

  • Maximum file size: 8 MB

Each invoice generates one payment draft.

Where can I find my Mail-to-Pay email address?

Your dedicated Mail-to-Pay email address can be found in the AI settings in amnis.

What should I include in the email?

To use Mail-to-Pay:

  • Attach the invoice or document

  • Send the email to your Mail-to-Pay email address

The attachment is used to extract payment details and generate the payment draft.

Please note: Mail-to-Pay only processes emails sent from addresses linked to a registered amnis user within your entity. Emails from unrecognized addresses are not processed.

Are payments executed automatically?

No. Mail-to-Pay only prepares the payment draft. Payments are executed only after review and approval, ensuring full control.

Can I send invoices by email instead of uploading them manually?

Yes. Mail-to-Pay is designed exactly for this use case.
It allows you to automate invoice processing further by turning incoming emails into payment drafts - without manual upload and even without logging in.
